10 Easy Ways to Use Less Plastic

Avoid buying items packaged in plastic. Whenever possible, look for produce and other items that aren't over-packaged. Buy food in glass jars rather than plastic ones, and detergents in boxes rather than bottles. Not only are you reducing the plastic you use, you're sending a powerful message to the makers of those products that you don't like plastic packaging.

Chewing gum is plastic!!
Chewing on Plastic? Yum! - My Plastic-free Life

I'm not a big gum chewer. I can keep a stick of gum in my mouth for about five minutes, just enough time to suck all the flavor out of it, before I'm tired of chewing and starting to get that chewing gum headache.

Scientists have discovered that various brands of table salt sold in China contain a range of plastic pollution, which might make food unsafe. The highest proportion of plastic was found in sea salt, according to a paper from researchers at Shanghai's East China Normal University.
