About 40 minutes ago, while watching TV, a very bright flash of light lit up the night sky where I live in Yaletown, Vancouver, and a loud, hollow boom reverberated right behind it.
At first I thought it had to be lightning, but the sound was not similar to what I'm used to from lightning.
What to do? A mystery that had to be solved!
Solution: Twitter (sort of).
I thought I would ask if anyone else had seen or heard it on Twitter:
Got the following initial response (okay, so I wasn't just seeing/hearing things... relief!)
Urban Mary had also followed her gut and gone to the Oracle of Twitter for answers, as she had tweeted this before replying to my query:
If it wasn't for Twitter, I swear, I would have expected that this guy was behind it:
And that perhaps only these two could solve the mystery:
But we live in much better times.
We have Twitter.
Anyway, here are some other people who wondered, and then tweeted about it:
Anyway, before Mulder from X-files could get to it, looks like Twitter came to the rescue.
Still not sure exactly what it was, but if I find any more tweets or info on it, will update this press.
Now off to bed (and hoping for no more freaky explosions).
