My Favorite Books of 2016
G arth Greenwell's "What Belongs to You" (Farrar, Straus and Giroux) appeared early in 2016, and is a short first novel by a young writer; still, it was not easily surpassed by anything that appeared later in the year. It is narrated by a gay American man who has been living and teaching in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.
