24 Attacks by Russia-Backed Militants

As in recent days, on October 5, Russia-backed militants concentrated most of their fire on the Donetsk line, making a total of 24 attacks, the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] reported on its Facebook page.

They fired twice with heavy machine guns and grenade launchers on Mayorsk, Avdeyevka and Opytnoye. They also opened fire on the approaches to the Butovka Mine. Near Zaytsevo, an armed BMP was used.

On the Lugansk line, militants used 82-mortar launchers on Ukrainian positions at Lobachev. Anti-tank grenade-launchers and small arms were fired on ATO positions at Stanitsa Luganskaya, Valuyskoye and Krymskoye.

On the Maritime line, Ukrainian positions at Shirokino, Pavlopol and Vodyanoye were attacked with heavy machine guns. Near Beryozovoye, an armed BMP, grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns were used. Ukrainian forces returned fire.
