Easter Ceasefire Falls Apart
As we reported yesterday, an Easter ceasefire seemed to have taken hold in Ukraine on Sunday.
This morning's briefing of the Ukrainian military's Anti-Terrorism Operation (ATO) confirmed that relative to most days Easter Sunday was fairly peaceful. However, ceasefire violations picked up the pace after nightfall. The ATO reported 13 ceasefire violations in the Mariupol sector, three in the Lugansk sector, and six in the Donetsk sector. Unian.info reports that two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded.

By Monday, however, heavy fighting was again reported, specifically in Avdeyevka where six civilian houses were reportedly damaged.

Unian.info reports:

"The Ukrainian members of the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) report ongoing attacks by illegal armed formations from the self-proclaimed republics in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, who aim at the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as civilians in villages and towns along the contact line. The town of Avdiyivka has recently seen escalation," the ATO HQ said on Monday evening with reference to the JCCC.
