1 Ukrainian Soldier Wounded in Battle; JCCC Establishes 'Quiet Regimen' After Firefight Near Zhyoltoye


One Ukrainian soldier was injured in battle in the last day, Col. Andry Lysenko, speaker for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry on ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] issues announced at his briefing today, Liga.net reported. He also reported that one Russia-backed militant was wounded. Militants attacked Ukrainian positions 31 times in the previous day.

At 18:00, the ATO reported on its Facebook page that there had been 41 attacks today along the front line, mainly on the Mariupol line.

Russia-backed militants used 122-mm and 152-mm artillery to shell Vodyanoye, Shirokino, and Lebedinskoye. Various calibers of mortar-launchers, grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and firearms were used to fire on Shirokino, Talakovka, Krasnogorovka, Lebedinskoy, Gnutovo and Pavlopol. A tank also fired on Shirokino.

On the Lugansk line, 122-mm artillery was used on Novotoshkivka and mortar-launchers on Novozvanovka. Grenade-launchers and small arms were used to fire on Stanitsa Luganskaya, Novoaleksandrovka, Novozvanovka and Lopaskino. 

On the Donetsk line, there was 82-mm shelling near Luganskoye and near Avdeyevka, various grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were used.

Earlier at 6:00, the ATO reported 82-mm and 120-mm artillery used on the Luganskoye line to attack Troitskoye and Novozvanovka. Grenade-launchers and small arms were also used to attack Novozvanovka, Lobachevo, Krymskoye, Novotoshkovskoye, Troitskoye, Stanitsa Luganskaya and the nature preserve Sharov Kut. There was sniper fire at Zhyoltoye.

On the Mariupol line, militants attacked with mortar-launchers, grenade-launchers, an armed BMP, heavy machine guns and firearms near Shirokino and also Krasnogorovka, Talakovka, Novotroitskoye, Zaytsevo and Mayorsk; a sniper was also active in this area.

There were also attacks on Krasnogorovka with 82-mm mortars and grenade-launchers and small arms were used on Novotroitskoye; 122-mm was used on Shirokino as well.

According to the news service of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic," Ukrainian forces shelled Zhyoltoye, southwest of Schastye, which is under control of the self-proclaimed "Lugansk People's Republic"  for an hour and a half with artillery, mortars and small arms. A "quiet regime" was put in place at 18:30 by the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC).
