Fragile Ceasefire Largely Intact In Ukraine; Inter TV's Office Set On Fire

With school starting in the Donbass, the fragile ceasefire in eastern Ukraine is largely holding, though some fighting has been reported. The Ukrainian military reported only 16 incidents where the Russian-backed fighters broke the ceasefire, and the incidents were characterized by low-level actions of individual fighters, not coordinated attacks. Ukraine Today reports:

In the Mariupol sector, the enemy fired small arms on the towns of Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and the village of Vodiane. In addition, a sniper was active near Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and the village of Hnutove.

In the Donetsk sector, militants fired rocket-propelled grenades, heavy machine guns and small arms on the town of Avdiyivka.

According to the report, the Ukrainian military did not return fire:

Ukraine Today also reports that the office building for Inter TV, Ukraine's largest broadcaster, has been set on fire by protesters. According to the report, protesters gathered outside the building, chanting that the TV network was "the Kremlin's agent." At the end of the rally, someone threw a smoke bomb at the building, causing a fire:

Six people were detained. According to journalists, one of the detainees was dressed in a traditional costume and had a tattoo with the image of Cossack.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire fighting vehicle, ambulances and police arrived on the scene.

Some of the channel staff are reported to be in the building.

Multiple videos show the fire:

Unian.info has published a statement from Ukraine's Emergency Services:

"At 16:31 local time on September 4, Kyiv Emergency Situations Service operators received a call about a fire that had broken out at a building of a TV channel at 26 Schuseva Street. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found out that car tires in two piles had been set ablaze during a rally outside the building and an external source of ignition brought [into the building] had caused a fire on the first floor on an area of about 10 square meters and on the second floor on an area of 20 square meters," the service reported.

Firefighters evacuated 30 people from the building.

"After a second attempt to bring an external source of ignition, premises on the second floor on an area of 60 square meters caught fire at about 17:00. The repeat fire outbreak was limited by firefighters at 17:33 and put out at 18:01," the service said.

This is not the first time that the television network has been attacked. The channel has also been a controversy magnet as it is viewed as pro-Russian by some Ukrainians:
