Ukrainian forces fought to maintain control over the industrial zone in Avdeyevka today, Unian.net reported, citing the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] on its Facebook page.
Ukrainian soldiers were under constant fire in the industrial zone, the ATO said.
Russian-backed militants fired 27 times on Ukrainian positions along the Donetsk and Mariupol lines, using 120-mm artillery near Opytnoye and 82-mm artillery near Avdeyevka.
Militants violated the "quiet regimen" near Maryinka, Berezovoye, Starognatovka and Zaytsevo using grenade-launchers, machine guns and firearms. Near Novotroitskoye, the militants fired from weapons mounted on a BMP and anti-tank systems.
Ukrainian forces were forced to return fire several times on enemy positions near Dokuchayevsk, Yasinovataya and Mineral'noye.
