Russian Oligarch Sechin Falls Out of Bloomberg's 'Most Influential' List

Igor Sechin, CEO of Rosneft, Russian oligarch and top crony of President Vladimir Putin has fallen out of Bloomberg's "most influential people in the world," Bloomberg and RBC.ru reported.

This year there is not a single Russian on the list, nor indeed is there anyone from the former Soviet republics.

Rinat Akhmetov, the wealthiest man in Ukraine, has also fallen out of the list, says RBC.ru.

Sechin is under Western sanctions for his role in support of the annexation of Crimea.

Recently he has been in the Russian news for asking for state loans to keep his business going, despite already receiving softer terms for the loans for the Sochi Olympics construction. In May, his contract was renewed and his compensation of $11.7 million a year announced, although opposition critics believe he is hiding more wealth.
